I have taught courses in undergraduate English at UCLA, led citizenship classes in Oakland’s Chinatown, and tutored students in English as a Second Language. For ten years, I was a writer, editor, and book reviewer at Los Angeles magazine.
I attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo (B.A., English), the University of California at Berkeley (M.A., English), and the United States Armed Forces School of Music (marine bandsman/saxophone, with a minor in clarinet).
I live in Los Angeles with my wife, Hyunu Lee, and my son, Ezekiel.
